The museum covers an area of 950 square meters, with a total building space of 490 square meters and an exhibition area of 345 square meters. Since November 2024, the Abai Museum has been operating as a department under the Shymkent City Museums Association, a state municipal enterprise.
The museum consists of 4 halls:
- At the hall tells the story of Abai from childhood to the formation of his personality as a Hakim
- The working room of Abai.
- The work of Abai, his students and Abai scholars.
- The mediazone consists of a round table, events, and a library for viewing Abai's works.
