Department "Sairam Museum"

The building of the Sairam Museum was built in 1968 as the administrative building of the Lenin collective farm. On the initiative of historian, Professor MirakhmadMirkhaldarov, the branch of the South Kazakhstan Regional Museum of Local Lore became the Sairam Museum of Local Lore. He made a great contribution to the development and growth

of the Sairam Museum. The total area of the museum is 800 square meters, it consists of 2 floors. The area of the exhibition halls is 360 m2, and the stock relic is 40 m2.

The Sairam Museum operated as the "South Kazakhstan Regional Museum" and the "Turkestan Regional Historical Branch of Local Lore" from 1992-2022.

Due to the annexation of the territory of Sairam to the city of Shymkent, the museum will be transferred to the "Shymkent" historical and cultural complex from March 5, 2022.

Since January 4, 2023, the Sairam Museum began its business as the department of support for the scientific and methodological department of the historical and scientific complex "Shym Kala" (History of Sairam, archeology and ethnography).

Since November 2024, the Sairam Museum has been operating as a division of the Shymkent City Museum Association State-owned Municipal Enterprise.

Currently has more than 9,000 exhibits in the museum's collection. In order to replenish the museum's funds, work is underway in cooperation with district, city and regional archives and museums.
