On August 15, as part of the celebration of Archaeologists’ Day, the Department of «Protection and Registration of Historical and Cultural Heritage» of the Shymkent City Museums Association held an educational event titled «Archaeology: A Bridge Between the Past and the Present» at the Shym Qala Historical and Cultural Complex.

During the event, participants were informed about the current condition of archaeological monuments located within the city of Shymkent. Interesting and unique facts about archaeological sites were also presented to the audience.

Video materials and short documentaries based on conversations with renowned and young scholars and specialists contributing to the development of archaeology in Shymkent were shown as part of the program.

The participants were divided into four teams and took part in a series of educational and interactive activities, including themed games, a rapid-fire quiz, and a puzzle-building competition featuring historical and archaeological images.

Following the competitions, the winning team was determined based on the total number of points earned. Participants who demonstrated outstanding activity were presented with special gifts, while all participants received commemorative prizes.

In addition, archaeologists of the Shymkent City Museums Association, Zh. Suleimenova and A. Aken, were presented with letters of appreciation from the Association’s management for their professional contribution to the study, preservation, and promotion of historical and cultural heritage.

Archaeology is a bridge between the past and the present, preserving the historical memory of a nation for future generations.
