On May 18, in celebration of International Museum Day, large-scale cultural and educational events were organized in the city of Shymkent. The festive programs, filled with meaningful and educational content, were held simultaneously across the city’s museums under the organization of the Shymkent City Museum Association.
The праздничные events began at 10:00 a.m. and continued until midnight. During this time, the “Shym Qala” Historical and Cultural Complex, the “Hakim Abai” Museum, the Museum of Victims of Political Repression, the Erlik Museum, and the Sairam Museums presented special programs for residents and visitors of the city.
Visitors enjoyed theatrical performances held at the “Shym Qala” Historical and Cultural Complex and explored handicraft exhibitions and fairs. In addition, master classes promoting national art were organized, introducing guests to ancient traditions and cultural heritage.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the “Star Guide” project and the candlelight экскурсия. Visitors had the opportunity to discover the mysterious atmosphere of the historical complex and feel the spirit of past eras.
The event was also organized in collaboration with the A. Kasteyev Shymkent City College of Arts and Design, where works by young artists were presented to the public.
During the event, employees who contributed to the development of the museum sector were awarded special letters of appreciation.
