From June 22 to 26, 2026, the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted an international training seminar entitled “Digitalization and Development of Museums of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
The seminar was organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).
Representing the Shymkent City Museum Association, E. Asker and M. Zhandarbek, specialists from the Department of Scientific, Methodological, Exhibition and Exposition Support, took part in the seminar. During the program, they exchanged professional experience, explored modern approaches to museum digitalization, and enhanced their professional competencies.
Throughout the five-day seminar, participants discussed key topics, including the digital transformation of museums, the digitization of museum collections, collection management systems, the development of virtual museums, and the implementation of international best practices. Leading museum experts from Türkiye shared their expertise through comprehensive lectures and practical sessions.
The seminar brought together nearly 100 professionals from national and regional museums across Kazakhstan, providing an excellent platform for knowledge exchange, professional networking, and learning about advanced museum practices.
The international training seminar served as an important professional platform for promoting the modernization of the museum sector, the integration of digital technologies, the strengthening of international cooperation, and the development of innovative approaches to preserving cultural heritage.
